- 08:00 a.m. – Pickup from your hotel in Iquitos Departure in private transportation to the port.
- Boat ride on the Nanay and Amazon Rivers Begin your river journey aboard a traditional Amazonian boat. With a bit of luck, you may spot gray and/or pink river dolphins swimming freely. You will also witness the impressive confluence of the Nanay and Amazon Rivers, a fascinating natural phenomenon.
- Visit to Fundo Pedrito A local Amazonian animal center where you can observe:
- Victoria Amazonica, the largest aquatic plant in the world
- Macaws, turtles, piranhas, caimans, and the famous paiche, the largest fish in the Amazon

Refuge Location – Pacaya Samiria Operations Base
Our Amazon refuge is located approximately 124 kilometers (77 miles) from the city of Iquitos, deep within the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, one of the most biodiverse areas in the Amazon.
Access to the refuge requires a scenic river journey navigating first along the majestic Amazon River, then continuing upstream via the Marañón River. This remote yet accessible location is ideal for launching immersive expeditions into the heart of the Peruvian jungle.
Surrounded by pristine floodplain forests and abundant wildlife, the refuge serves as our operational base for multi-day adventures, offering travelers an authentic connection with nature and Indigenous cultures far from urban centers.
