- 09:00 a.m. – Pickup from your hotel in Iquitos We begin with private transportation to the port.
- Boat ride along the Nanay and Amazon Rivers We’ll navigate the majestic Amazon basin in a traditional boat. With a bit of luck, you may spot pink and/or gray river dolphins swimming freely in their natural habitat. You'll also witness the impressive confluence of the Nanay and Amazon rivers.
- Visit to Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm Explore this conservation center home to colorful Amazonian butterflies and rescued wildlife.
- Visit to the Native Bora Community Engage with the ancestral Bora people and experience their traditions, dances, attire, and local handicrafts.
- Stop at the Giant Lupuna Tree Visit one of the Amazon’s most iconic trees, considered sacred by many Indigenous cultures.

Refuge Location – Pacaya Samiria Operations Base
Our Amazon refuge is located approximately 124 kilometers (77 miles) from the city of Iquitos, deep within the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, one of the most biodiverse areas in the Amazon.
Access to the refuge requires a scenic river journey navigating first along the majestic Amazon River, then continuing upstream via the Marañón River. This remote yet accessible location is ideal for launching immersive expeditions into the heart of the Peruvian jungle.
Surrounded by pristine floodplain forests and abundant wildlife, the refuge serves as our operational base for multi-day adventures, offering travelers an authentic connection with nature and Indigenous cultures far from urban centers.
